Synchronous sounds - Synchronous sounds are sound which are synchronised compatible with what is viewed. E.g a scene of a waterfall, sound of pouring water in the background. The sound get recorded and mixed in with the video clip.

Asynchronous sound - In a close-up which the surrounding can not be seen a sound scoops into the shot sometimes can be mysterious. This also collects rich opportunities for effects of force and surprise.

Empathetic sound - Empathetic sound helps to create a mood which the scene in the film is depicting for example: happy music for a happy scene.

Anempathetic sound - Means it doesnt give the mood of the scene in the background E.g funeral scene playing a happy tune.

Room Tone / Wild Track - the definition of Room Tone And Wild Track is the sound effects in the background e.g cups clashing, car horns, people talking and cutlery.

Foley - Is like Room Tone and Wild Track but Foley Effects are more closer into to the surroundings of a scene such as squeaky doors, foot steps and breaking glass.
